Get your small, starving business fed online
I don't build websites for you - I design them for your customers.
I want your website to be designed and built perfectly for your customers by you, or by your vendor.
Have me cast a professional eye over your website to find areas to improve for your diverse customer base.
Let me review and feedback on the universal experience of your digital presence and campaigns.
Create a cohesive look and feel across your website with bespoke graphic design and imagery.
I want to give your small business every advantage when you offer it out into our Digital World. I won't build your website properly, but I'll make sure you or your website vendor does.
My name is Pat Godfrey and I'm here to help you in Ireland or the UK.
Getting websites built is risky - become the gamekeeper and not the game!
I'm not another website builder. I ensure your website builders build your website properly.
Building a website is a little like building a van.
But we want a website!!!
If you're strapped for cashflow and need a website, then you’re either going to DIY it, or go for the web team down the road. Sure. And neither are a bad thing, but it's where I can help you.
I have experience from the world of expensive vans - er, no...websites, apps, and platforms. I know what looks good, how to write for the digital audience, and some stuff about how your customers learn about you through your website. Bring me in as your skilled person to review your, or that small team's design and work. Let me find where we can squeeze out tangible improvements.
You can still go with your local web page designer and pay as little as €250 for everything. (You can't really buy a new van for that?) You may only be squeezed into a template like its Cinderella's slipper. You are not Cinderella! But with only a little effort together, we can feedback on that slipper and get it stretched to fit your business and maximise every cent you spend on it. Let's put you in control of your website!
So I help make sure your website works for you.
My help costs from just €125+VAT for a Level 1 Review. That's between 2 to 4 hours work: but not necessarily all in one go. It seems a lot, but like you, I don't work for "exposure"! And, if you really don't know what you or that web team are doing, it's really not a lot in the long run when we get your website off to its best advantage and bring in those sales?
I will collaborate with you, your business, and your customers. I'll even collaborate with your website provider. We'll test your digital strategies and identify practical areas of what and where to improve. If you are being treated like game, then I will turn you into the gamekeeper!
I work from evidence-based best practice and where possible, through consultation with your business leaders and end-users. The result is a real opportunity to convert page visits into sales! (See the Pricing section in FAQs for alternative service levels).
We'll take the guess work out of your website, forms, and transactions for your customers.
If great (corporate) web design takes a large team, each member earning €600+ per day, then what can you do on your own? A small web design partnership may put your business in someone elses' template designed for Cinderella. You are not Cinderella! (Are you?)
Take the worry out of the work. Let me look at and review what you are planning, or what you have. I will give you my experience from the corporate website world in your small business environment. You will offer a credible experience to your customers.
Knowledge is the sum of experience and learning. Offer your customers knowledge. Let your customers Experience Learning Too!
Your customers engage with and experience brands, values, and products through your communication channels. Click behaviours may not push the Knowledge needed for the judgment and decision making needed to convert clicking into buying behaviours.

There are many intertwined factors and design considerations that affect your digital product's success, both on and off the page. All affect your customers' learning too.
|Accessibility||10% plus of your customers may have learning or physical differences to how you access digital channels. Do your website pages, platforms, videos, emails, or other digital channels offer everyone access to your message and products?|
|Usability||Usability is everyone's concern. Get Accessibility right and Usability should follow, but is your message clear? Can your website visitors navigate and understand your content?|
|Information Architecture||Our digital content consumers - your customers - access content in different ways, but do you signpost these pathways for them in what is logical to them and not only as appears logical to your designer?|
|Content||Is your content concise? Does it pull in your customer, or push them away? Is your message clear from the top of the page? Is your content laid out as others will see it, or does it clutter your pages like fliers in a doctor's surgery? Should our customer need to click to find out where you do business from or how to contact you?|
|Values||What values do you want your customer to share with you? What is your story? What is your business' edge and advantage over competitors - and we have so many competitors in our expanding digital World.|
|Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)||We can optimise our website search position, but there is so much more to getting your message out! Does your Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or other social media campaign reach out to millions, or is its membership limited to your locality? Make social media work for you!|
|Your Facilities||Do we know that you package and send your product safely and quickly to your customer's home? Are you using a trusted payment method? Is your stock sufficient to avoid any delay in dispatch? Can your digital content consumers visit your premises: where, when?|
Usability, Accessibility, User Experience, and Responsiveness are all strategies of concern today. The good news is that each strategy improves the effectiveness of our digital products and our business.
|The Importance of Usability||
"Usability is a vital aspect to IT design, and the application of human computer interaction, interaction design and human factors methods can improve the rates of IT acceptance in every age group, every culture and every profession."
"When emerging applications have good interaction design, they are used more readily by the whole population, but more importantly, perhaps, provide a supportive and enabling environment for less able users."
"As more and more applications are made available on a variety of mobile devices, the use of robust usability criteria is essential to make them accessible to anyone wanting to use them."
Dr Kate Dingley, University of Portsmouth
|The Importance of Accessibility||
"Web accessibility also benefits people without disabilities. For example, a key principle of Web accessibility is designing Web sites and software that are flexible to meet different user needs, preferences, and situations."
"Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Web. More specifically, Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web. Web accessibility also benefits others, including older people with changing abilities due to aging."
Introduction to Accessibility, World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
|User Experience Uncovered||
"Every day, you use bad products. Websites that don't make sense. Doors that open the wrong way. Things built the easy way or cheap way, rather than the right way."
“…big companies employ mediocre designers as well as excellent ones. There’s no guarantee that a solution is right just because it’s on a famous website. It might just be there because no one got around to changing it.”
P.2, P.118, Bowles, C. and Box, J, Undercover User Experience, New Riders (2011).
Over 80% of Interweb content is consumed on mobile devices.
The reflex action is to create mobile-only products; inevitably leading to a different experience and increased scripting costs for two steams: "desktop" (including laptop and notebook) and "mobile".
Fluid Responsive design aims to display across all native mobile and desktop devices without needing to identify each device your user employs. It works simply by knowing the browser "viewport". This can better serve the Lores of:
Note: there are places where the Lores blur as techniques in Fluid Responsive design emerge.
